Miss Pole Dance Australia 2019

November 12, 2018

MISS POLE DANCE AUSTRALIA LeslieLiuphotoThe Pole Dancing event that shouldn’t be missed by any serious Pole Dancer. I love going to Miss Pole Dance Australia! I have been almost every year since it started running & often try to make it an event for all the ladies at our studio to attend, however, I have also gone on my own. It doesn’t matter who you go with or how you do it, you will never be disappointed by the show that comes from all the artists that perform on the Enmore Stage.

This year we trekked from Newcastle (or my case Maitland) to Sydney & back in the one trip. Which makes for an epic trip, 2 & a bit hours of driving each way & sitting through an epic 23 sparkling, prop-filled performances, performers dancing, spinning & flipping they’re all, in order to take home, the crown & title Miss Pole Dance Australia. The amount of skill these ladies have is unreal, topped with the time, energy & training to make these performances, the results are just spectacular.

If you haven’t had a chance to take a look, be sure to grab a copy from the Bobbi’s Pole Studio website when it comes available, it won’t be the same as being there, but you will get to see all the shows.

With so many new names on the list this year, some I had heard of, but not seen perform, some I never of heard of, I was excited to see what these ladies would get up to, but for some of my old favourites like Joanna because the few times I saw her perform, you can feel the energy that she is channelling & she didn’t disappoint with an energy-filled routine that had you bopping along with every crazy pole move. The women beside me, whom I didn’t know, was like wow, that was awesome, after her performance.

I think my favourite performance of the night was Natty’s performance which was simple setup in comparison to many of the other performers, but I loved it, was a simple routine without a theme or obvious story. Natty come out and danced with her incredible dancers who supported her performance in such an understated way that, highlighted Natty’s Pole Work & added value to her floor work, it had a flow that you couldn’t help admiring. It was one of the few performances of the night that used backup dancers that did add to her performance. Some of the dancers I feel like they think because they allow human props, they feel they must & it doesn’t always work so well.

I also loved Miss Sang, a newcomer to the Enmore stage again because of her use of dancers throughout her routine, it was also a style we haven’t seen on the Enmore stage, which was refreshing, which am sure scored just high with the Judges.

You can see I have a love of group routines, there is something truly amazing & unique to watching groups of dancers come together on the stage & bring the music to life with a dance that is so very satisfying to watch.
